Juneteenth Jubilee Detroit stands unwavering in our commitment to commemorate the significance of Juneteenth Freedom Day. Since our inception in 2019, we have been steadfast in our mission to celebrate, educate, and empower our community, all while advocating for economic sustainability through the support of local Black businesses. In 2023, we witnessed an incredible turnout of more than 21,000 residents who gathered to participate in our Juneteenth Freedom Weekend festivities. This incredible momentum has inspired us to raise the bar even higher for our 2024 events.
On June 14, 2024, Juneteenth Jubilee Detroit will once again come alive, hosting a weekend filled with enriching experiences. Our program includes an educational activation and kickoff celebration at the historic Motown Museum, a Juneteenth Jubilee day of health and family,entitled Liberation through Life, and a vibrant Freedom Festival that spotlights the brilliance of Black entrepreneurship. We are proud to partner with esteemed organizations like Black Leaders Detroit, Metro Detroit Black Business Alliance, Eastern Market Conservancy, Motown Museum, Detroit is Different, 5K for Literacy, Detroit HBCU Network, the City of Detroit, and many more.
Our vision extends beyond the year 2024. We aim to establish an enduring and inclusive annual tradition that pays homage to the historical relevance of Juneteenth, celebrating the emancipation of enslaved individuals and the enduring spirit of Black excellence within our community.
