Juneteenth Jubilee Stroll
on the Historic Avenue of Fashion
2021
For Juneteenth 2021 we commemorated an important time in American history with the Juneteenth Jubilee Stroll, along Livernois Ave in Detroit (The Avenue of Fashion). Thus attracting 4,000 participants throughout this year’s festivities. Our committee and local partners held a prayer vigil at New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church, unveiled the newly dedicated Marvin Gaye Avenue, and organized a unique shopping experience in one of the country’s oldest Black business districts. Together, we accomplished our mission of increasing awareness and participation in commemorating Juneteenth in Detroit through Education, Activation, and Celebration.
